Friday the 13th is pure MAGICK!
Did you know that today is an auspicious date, connected to magick and the divine feminine? For years, in our patriarchal society, we have been programmed to believe that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day.
Before patriarchal times, Friday the 13th was considered the day of the Goddess. This was a day to worship the Divine Feminine that lives in us all. A day to honor the cycles of creation, death, and rebirth of our inner wisdom.
Friday is also named after Freya, the goddess, and is represented by Venus. Venus is the epitome of feminine energy. Her energy encourages us to honor creativity and to celebrate beauty, wisdom, art, sensuality, and nourishment of the soul.
The Number 13 also holds an extremely potent feminine energy. It symbolizes the number of life, seeds of creation, fertility, and blood. This is because we have 13 Moon cycles every year. The average female also experiences 13 periods per year.
Before patriarchal times, when a woman bled she was considered to embody divine and magical powers. People turned to her for wisdom and the ability to offer intuitive and psychic messages. When she was ovulating, she was considered to be at the height of her power and was celebrated for her ability to receive, hold, and create new life
As society became more patriarchal, women were made to feel ashamed. Women were taught to ignore their amazing potential to create and hold space for a new life. This attitude has helped to contribute to the idea that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day.
This picture of The ‘Earth Mother of Laussel’ is a 27,000-year-old carving that was found near the Lascaux caves in France. She is an icon of matriarchal spirituality. The Earth Mother holds a crescent-shaped horn bearing 13 notches. 💃🏼
We all have feminine/goddess/mother energy within us. Today is a day we can honor our own abilities to co-create, rebirth into our wisdom & celebrate life. To remember our programming of what is “right and true” must be questioned. Give thanks for the powerful Shakti within. Today is not an unlucky day. It is the day of the goddess.
