Happy Diwali - Festival of Lights!

The Hindu festival of Diwali, or the “Festival of Lights” is a holiday when we light lamps to illuminate the night. Lighting these has a spiritual meaning. It illustrates the importance of lighting the lamp within us — and celebrating the festival of the light of the soul.

The inner light within is the way to dispel the darkness, so that we may awaken our Ananda....our highest potential. Diwali is a time to turn inward and light the lamps of truth and knowledge. It is also a time to reflect on how we can be of service to others and shine our light out into the world.

Just as the flame of light always points upward, Diwali is a time to celebrate, express gratitude and look forward to the coming year with purpose and passion.

If you would like to celebrate:
1. Light a single candle and spend a few minutes softly gazing at the flame. Close your eyes and picture the flame that is burning brightly in your heart. Embrace your inner light.

2. Recite the following Vedic chant in Sanskrit or in English:

Om Asato Ma Sat Gamaya
Tamaso Ma Jyotir Gamaya
Mrityor Ma Amritam Gamaya
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Lead us from untruth to truth
From darkness to light
From death to immortality
Om Peace Peace Peace

3. Journal your dreams. Journal your Light. Journal your deepest soul mission. Allow your Light to SHINE BRIGHT. One LOVE.
